The group of Professor Yasuhiro Sugawara of Osaka University (Graduate School of Engineering), Professor Hajime Ishihara of Osaka University (Graduate School of Engineering Science), Associate Professor Nobuhiko Yokoshi of Osaka Metropolitan University (Graduate School of Engineering), and Researcher Hidemasa Yamane of Osaka Research Institute of Industrial Science and Technology, succeeded in imaging a multipole excitation of electrons in a single molecule with a resolution of less than 1 nanometer (one billionth of a meter) by using a microscope (photo-induced force microscope).
The results of this research were published online on December 29, 2023 in academic journal “ACS Nano.”
