Prof. Koichi Matsuo (Hiroshima Univ.) has published a research article in Analytical Chemistry.
2024.10.17
Prof. Matsuo and Mr. Hashimoto (graduate student) developed the time-resolved system using synchrotron radiation circular dichroism spectroscopy and rapid-mixing microfluidic device for measuring the structural alternation of protein in the membrane interaction process. These interactions involved in various biological phenomena such as the formation of disease-related materials, delivery of materials into the membrane inside, and antimicrobial function for microorganisms. This research method is expected to be applied not only to proteins but also to various chiral materials such as amino acids, nucleic acids, and sugars.
This result was published in Analytical Chemistry on June 22, 2024 and introduced in NIKKAN KOGYO SHIMBUN (August 1st, 2024) and The Science News (August 30th, 2024).
